Luminescence Lines Due to the n=2 Free Exciton State of Wannier Series in KI Crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, a resonance luminescence line and its LO phonon side bands due to n =2 free excitons in KI were studied and it was concluded that so called σ(4.12 eV) and π(3.31 eV)-luminescence are emitted from the self-trapped exciton states due to the n = 2 exciton state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Time-resolved fluorescence spectra of naphthalene doped in amorphous silica glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the steady-excitation fluorescence spectra of pyrene-doped amorphous silica glasses were measured and a broad excimer-like emission was observed in higher dopant concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Luminescence of dyes doped in a sol–gel coating film

TL;DR: In this article, the spectral changes of absorption and fluorescence due to the change of molecular structure originating from the acid-base equilibrium of immobilized dyes were examined, and the energy transfer between coumarin 6 and rhodamine 6G was examined.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lifetimes and Diffusion of Singlet Excitons in Naphthalene Crystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the diffusion coefficient of an exciton was determined as 1/D=1/α'T -1/2 +1/βT 1/2 exp(hν/kT)-1, where ν is the frequency of the longitudinal optical phonon.
Journal ArticleDOI

Luminescence associated with the molecular aggregation of hydrocarbons doped in amorphous silica glasses

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured fluorescence spectra in pyrene and naphthalene doped amorphous silica glasses with high dopant concentration prepared by the sol-gel method, and the broad emission by the molecular aggregation in these glasses was observed at a longer wavelenght than the monomer band.
