Journal ArticleDOI

Direct determination of the energy of the first excited fine-structure level in Ba 6 +

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental observation of the visible magnetic dipole transition between the fine structure levels in the ground term was performed with a compact electron beam ion trap, and the wave number in vacuum of the transition was determined to be 15505.506(37) by simultaneously observing the reference lines of neutral Ne.
Journal ArticleDOI

5 p − 4 f level crossing in palladium-like ions and its effect on metastable states

TL;DR: In this article, the level structures of palladium-like ions and the behavior of their metastable states with an electron beam ion trap were studied and compared with theoretical simulations based on a collisional-radiative model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Direct Wavelength Measurement of the Visible M1 Transition in Ba 7+ with a Novel Calibration Method

TL;DR: In this article, Kimura et al. proposed a method to improve the performance of the RIKEN Nishina Center for Advanced Photonics (RIKEN-APP), a state-of-the-art facility for advanced photonic imaging.
