Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-infection Peptidomics of Amphibian Skin

TL;DR: The general opinion that 20–30 different antimicrobial peptides can protect an animal can be doubted and the strong capability of innate immunity and molecular genetics of amphibian ecological diversification is considered.
Journal ArticleDOI

Massilia dura sp. nov., Massilia albidiflava sp. nov., Massilia plicata sp. nov. and Massilia lutea sp. nov., isolated from soils in China

TL;DR: Four Gram-negative, motile, rod-shaped bacterial strains isolated from soil samples collected from south-east China are considered to represent four novel species of the genus Massilia, for which the names Massilia dura sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serratia nematodiphila sp. nov., associated symbiotically with the entomopathogenic nematode Heterorhabditidoides chongmingensis (Rhabditida: Rhabditidae).

TL;DR: Phenotypic and biochemical characteristics and molecular data show that strain DZ0503SBS1(T) represents a novel species, for which the name Serratia nematodiphila sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heterorhabditidoides chongmingensis gen. nov., sp. nov. (Rhabditida: Rhabditidae), a novel member of the entomopathogenic nematodes.

TL;DR: Molecular phylogenetic trees based on 18S rDNA and the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences data revealed that the new entomopathogenic nematode species forms a monophyletic group, which is a sister group of the clade comprised of some genera of Rhabditidae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pontibacter akesuensis sp. nov., isolated from a desert soil in China.

TL;DR: A Gram-negative, non-motile, rod-shaped bacterium, designated strain AKS 1T, was isolated from a desert soil sample collected from Akesu, XinJiang Province, China and should be assigned as representing a novel species of the genus Pontibacter.
