Journal ArticleDOI

Neoclassical toroidal viscosity in perturbed equilibria with general tokamak geometry

TL;DR: In this article, the Perturbed Equilibrium Nonambipolar Transport (PENT) code was developed for this purpose, and is compared to previous combined regime models as well as regime specific limits and a drift kinetic δf guiding center code.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rotational resonance of nonaxisymmetric magnetic braking in the KSTAR tokamak.

TL;DR: The predicted and observed resonant peak along with the toroid rotation implies that the toroidal rotation in tokamaks can be controlled naturally in favorable conditions to stability, using nonaxisymmetric magnetic perturbations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theory comparison and numerical benchmarking on neoclassical toroidal viscosity torque

TL;DR: Park et al. as discussed by the authors showed that the imaginary part of drift kinetic energy computed by MARS-K is equivalent to the NTV torque in IPEC-PENT, and the agreement and correlation between the connected NTV formula and the combined NTV theory in different collisionality regimes were shown for the first time.
