Journal ArticleDOI

Redundant roles of EGFR ligands in the ERK activation waves during collective cell migration.

TL;DR: This paper showed that ERK activation waves were suppressed only when all four EGFR ligands were knocked out, and that all but HBEGF could restore the activation waves, while NRG1-deficient cells exhibited lower basal ERK activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

A feedback loop between lamellipodial extension and HGF-ERK signaling specifies leader cells during collective cell migration.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors show that the integration of physical and biochemical cues underlies the leader cell specification during collective cell migration, and they show that lamellipodial extension after the release from mechanical confinement causes sustained ERK activation in a hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-dependent manner.
Journal ArticleDOI

E‐cadherin‐dependent coordinated epithelial rotation on a two‐dimensional discoidal pattern

TL;DR: In this article , the authors tracked and compared the migratory behaviors of MDCK cells expressing or lacking E-cadherin, and found that wild-type MdcK II cells exhibited persistent and coordinated rotations on discoidal patterns, while E−cadlerin knockout cells migrated in a less coordinated manner without large-scale rotation.
