An Investigation of Acoustic Emission Signal Attenuation for Monitoring of Progressive Failure in Fiberglass Reinforced Composite Laminates
TL;DR: In this paper, an acoustic emission (AE) signal attenuation method with an improved algorithm for progressive failure monitoring in fiberglass reinforced composite laminates and the effective length for better AE detection is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mode II fracture behaviour monitoring for composite laminates using embedded fibre Bragg grating sensors
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the utility of embedded fiber Bragg grating sensors for monitoring mode II fracture behavior of glass fibre-reinforced epoxy (GF/EP) composite beams bearing a mid-plane delamination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development of composite plate for compact silencer design
TL;DR: Huang et al. as discussed by the authors constructed a flow-through plate silencer for low frequency noise control using new reinforced composite plates, which can be constructed in more compact size compared with the previous two-plate silencer with two rectangular cavities and the performance with the stopband of the range from 229 to 618 Hz.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microscopical Observation of the Marine Bacterium Vibrio Natriegeus Growth on Metallic Corrosion
TL;DR: In this article, the formation and adsorption of Vibrio natriegens on different metallic surfaces have been studied by atomic force microscopy (AFM) through the force-distance curve.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of crosstalk of a TDM FBG sensor array using a laser source
TL;DR: In this article, the crosstalk characteristics of a time-division multiplexing fiber Bragg sensor array that uses a laser source were examined and the system performance was found to be limited by the extinction ratio of the input optical pulse modulation and can be improved significantly by properly modulating the laser wavelength.
