Journal ArticleDOI

Antihyperlipidemic effect of chlorogenic acid and tetrahydrocurcumin in rats subjected to diabetogenic agents

TL;DR: Combined administration of THC and CGA remarkably reduced the STZ-induced changes in lipids, lipoproteins and lipid metabolising enzymes when compared to the effects of CGA or THC alone in diabetic rats, indicating that combination of cannabinoids can potentially ameliorate lipid abnormalities in experimental type 2 diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protective role of caffeic acid against alcohol‐induced biochemical changes in rats

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that caffeic acid has a beneficial effect in reducing the adverse effect of alcohol and the levels of antioxidants were significantly increased in circulation of alcohol‐fed rats.
Journal ArticleDOI

Protective effect of tetrahydrocurcumin and chlorogenic acid against streptozotocin–nicotinamide generated oxidative stress induced diabetes

TL;DR: Investigation of the protective effect of tetrahydrocurcumin and chlorogenic acid against streptozotocin–nicotinamide-induced type 2 diabetes in adult Wistar rats revealed that these phytochemical exert higher degree of protection when administered in combination than single treatment of individual compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combined treatment of tetrahydrocurcumin and chlorogenic acid exerts potential antihyperglycemic effect on streptozotocin-nicotinamide-induced diabetic rats.

TL;DR: The results substantiate that though THC and CGA alone found to exert hypoglycemic activity the maximum hypogly diabetic effect was always observed in diabetic rats treated THC/CGA and this summed effect seems to have a promising value for the development of a potent phytomedicine for diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antihyperglycaemic efficacy of kombucha in streptozotocin-induced rats

TL;DR: It is suggested that kombucha may be considered as a potential functional food candidate for future applications as functional food supplement for the treatment and prevention of diabetes.
