Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant activity of ethanolic and aqueous extracts of Uncaria tomentosa (Willd.) DC

TL;DR: High antioxidant capacity of the studied materials in comparison to the other extracts of fruits, vegetables, cereals and medicinal plants might suggest higher medical suitability of alcoholic extracts, but the highly elevated level of tannins in alcoholic extracts may cause undesirable gastric effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Food safety evaluation of broccoli and radish sprouts.

TL;DR: Broccoli and radish sprouts demonstrated no toxic effects on proliferation and viability of HL-60 cells and should be included in the authors' diets as healthy and safe fresh foods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of germination on the protein fraction composition of different lupin seeds

TL;DR: After germination, the A fraction almost disappeared in the protein profile while G and Gt + P fractions were modified, depending on the lupin species and cultivar.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of the effect of alpha-galactosides injected during embryogenesis on selected chicken traits.

TL;DR: The results of this experiment confirmed that RFO injection in ovo causes the long-time maintenance of a high level of bifidobacteria, and the highest dose reduces the hatchability of the treated embryos.
Journal ArticleDOI

Changes in chromosome structure, mitotic activity and nuclear DNA content from cells of Allium Test induced by bark water extract of Uncaria tomentosa (Willd.) DC.

TL;DR: Cytometric analysis showed that the extract of Uncaria tomentosa (Willd.) DC bark caused inhibition of the cell cycle at the border between gap between gap(2) and beginning of mitosis (G(2)/M).
