Abstract: The sensing characteristics of tetrathiafulvalen–tetracyanoquinodimethane (TTF–TCNQ) thin films for detecting nitrogen dioxide gas are studied. TTF–TCNQ complex, which is obtained by dissolving TTF and TCNQ powders in a solvent, is thermally evaporated onto a Al 2 O 3 substrate screen-printed with interdigitated gold electrodes. The gas sensing properties for the NO 2 –TTF–TCNQ interaction, including conductance transient and sensitivity, are discussed. When the special sensing condition of short contact time or lower concentration range is satisfied, a linear relationship is obtained by plotting the rate of conductance change versus NO 2 concentration, from which a sensitivity value of 8.0±0.1×10 −3 μS/s ppm is obtained. The rate of conductance change measured at room temperature is linear with respect to the NO 2 gas concentration up to 30 ppm. Moreover, by comparing with the literature, the conductivity calculated for the vacuum evaporated TTF–TCNQ thin films suggests that the molecular structure of the complex is randomly oriented.

TL;DR: In this article, a precoloring-free electrochromic device (ECD), undergoing reversible blue-to-yellowish electrochromism when charged, was fabricated and studied, and the K + -doped solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) was prepared through dissolving KCl into the monomer solution of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS), which was then polymerized to form the KCl-doped poly-AMPS (PAMP).

TL;DR: In this paper, an amperometric NO gas sensor based on the Pt/Nafion electrode has been fabricated and tested over the NO concentration range from 0 to 500 ppm, and the sensitivity of the electrochemical sensor was found to be 1.86 mA/ppm/cm 2.
Abstract: : The electrochemical oxidation of nitric oxide (NO) gas at the Pt/Nafion â electrode has been studied at a concentration of 500 ppm. The electrooxidation of NO taking place over a wide potential range can be described by a transcendental equation, from which the half-wave potential of the reaction can be determined. For NO oxidation with appreciable overpotentials but negligible mass-transfer effects, the Tafel kinetics applies. The obtained charge transfer coefficient (a) and the exchange current density (i o ) are 0.77 and 14 mA/cm 2 , respectively. An amperometric NO gas sensor based on the Pt/Nafion â electrode has been fabricated and tested over the NO concentration range from 0 to 500 ppm. The Pt/Nafion â electrode was used as an anode at a fixed potential, preferably 1.15 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/sat. KCl), which assures current limitation by diffusion only. The sensitivity of the electrochemical sensor was found to be 1.86 mA/ppm/cm 2 . The potential interference by other gases, such as nitrogen dioxide (NO
