Solution and Precipitation Hardening in (Ca, Mn) Sulfides and Selenides
Chi-Hung Leung,L. H. van Vlack +1 more
TL;DR: The deformable sulfides and selenides of calcium and manganese develop extensive, but not complete, solid solubility and were used to study both solution hardening and precipitation hardening in inorganic, nonmetallic compounds as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
FeSe-MnSe phase relationships in the presence of excess iron
G. S. Mann,L. H. van Vlack +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the subsolidus phase relationship of iron selenide and manganese selenides was examined both with and without excess metallic iron, and the FeSe-MnSe pseudobinary was shown to have a peritectic at 976 ± 3°C (1249 K).
Journal ArticleDOI
The relative effects of chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten on the occurrence of σ phase in Ni-Co-Cr alloys
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten on the occurrence of σ phase have been studied in Ni-Co-Cr alloys.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comparison of two- and three-dimensional size distributions in a cellular material
P. L. White,L. H. van Vlack +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of two-and three-dimensional data obtained on a cellular material was made by quantitative micrography techniques and spatial measurements, and the cellular structure corresponds most closely with the shape of pentagonal dodecahedra, twelve-faced cells having five edges per face.
Journal ArticleDOI
Partition coefficient of molybdenum in the Fe-Mo-Si-O system
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental determination of the partition coefficient of molybdenum, defined as the wt pct Mo in the slag divided by that in the liquid metal phase, in the Fe-Mo-Si-O system is reported.
