Optical detection of nanoparticles by mode splitting in whispering-gallery-mode microcavities

TL;DR: In this article, the mode splitting phenomenon of WGMs caused by their strong interactions with a single nanoparticle is utilized as the sensing signal, and frequency and linewidth information of the split modes are used to accurately derive the size of the detected particle.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Sr doping and temperature on the optical properties of BaTiO3

TL;DR: In this article , the solar-reflective and infrared-radiative properties of Sr-doped BaTiO3 are studied systematically, and the lowest absorptivity-emissivity ratio of 0.24 was observed for Ba0.8Sr0.2 TiO3.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Visible Microdisk and Photonic Crystals Lasers Based on InGaP/InGaAlP System

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of submicron microdisk and photonic crystal lasers fabricated within InGaP/InGaAlP material was described, and the authors demonstrated the fabrication and characterization of visible, monolithically fabricated, sub-micron mode volume lasers.
