Journal ArticleDOI

Resolution of minor size differences in a family of heteroleptic coordination cages by trapped ion mobility ESI-MS

TL;DR: A complex system of heteroleptic coordination cages based on the combination of four bis-monodentate ligands whose backbones only slightly differ in shape and length is reported, showing that high-resolution trapped ion mobility mass spectrometry (TIMS) allows the clear differentiation of all ten species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cooperativity of steric bulk and H-bonding in coordination sphere engineering: heteroleptic PdII cages and bowls by design

TL;DR: In this article , a new self-assembly strategy based on balancing hydrogen bonding and repulsive interactions between ligands carrying quinoline (LQu) and 1,8-naphthyridine (LNa) donors was introduced to generate trans-[Pd2L2] and [Pd3L′] cages, assisted by templation of encapsulated fullerenes.
Journal ArticleDOI

A New Mechanically-Interlocked [Pd2L4] Cage Motif by Dimerization of two Peptide-based Lemniscates

TL;DR: A new structural motif is contributed to the family of host compounds with low metal count (two) that consists of a pair of doubly‐interlocked, Figure‐eight‐shaped subunits, also termed “lemniscates”, which highlights the scope of structural variety accessible in metal‐mediated self‐assemblies composed of only a few constituents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Endohedrally Functionalized Heteroleptic Coordination Cages for Phosphate Ester Binding

TL;DR: In this article , a series of heteroleptic [Pd2A2B2] coordination cages that self-assemble from a library of shape complementary bis-monodentate ligands in a non-statistical fashion are presented.
