Journal ArticleDOI

A novel interval dynamic reliability computation approach for the risk evaluation of vibration active control systems based on PID controllers

TL;DR: A non-probability based method to calculate time-dependent reliability is introduced to estimate the safety of a vibration active control system of based on PID controller performance to avoid the disadvantages of traditional probabilistic methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel method of non-probabilistic reliability-based topology optimization corresponding to continuum structures with unknown but bounded uncertainties

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-probabilistic reliability-based topology optimization (NRBTO) method was proposed for detailed design of continuum structures, in which the unknown but bounded (UBB) uncertainties existing in material and external loads are considered simultaneously.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reliability estimation of fatigue crack growth prediction via limited measured data

TL;DR: In this paper, a time-dependent reliability estimation procedure that combines the determined crack growth model with interval mathematics is presented as a theoretical basis for structural damage tolerance design, in which a new measure index of non-probabilistic timedependent reliability is proposed as a feasible way for precisely evaluating the safe life of in-service engineering structures with crack.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hybrid reliability analysis of structures with multi-source uncertainties

TL;DR: In this paper, a new hybrid reliability analysis technique based on the convex modeling theory is developed for structures with multi-source uncertainties, which may contain randomness, fuzziness, and non-probabilistic boundedness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural time-dependent reliability assessment of the vibration active control system with unknown-but-bounded uncertainties

TL;DR: A non-probabilistic time-dependent reliability method that combines the active vibration control theory with interval analysis is proposed in this article to effectively estimate the dynamic safety of the controlled structures, in which circumstances the unknown-but-bounded uncertainties in structural parameters are considered.
