PNA hybridizes to complementary oligonucleotides obeying the Watson–Crick hydrogen-bonding rules
Michael Egholm,Ole Buchardt,Leif Christensen,Carsten Behrens,Susan M. Freier,David A. Driver,Rolf H. Berg,Seog K. Kim,Bengt Nordén,Peter E. Nielsen +9 more
TL;DR: It is reported here that PNA containing all four natural nucleobases hybridizes to complementary oligonucleotides obeying the WatsonCrick base-pairing rules, and thus is a true DNA mimic in terms of base- Pair recognition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis of Peptide Nucleic Acid Monomers Containing the Four Natural Nucleobases: Thymine, Cytosine, Adenine, and Guanine and Their Oligomerization
Kim L. Dueholm,Michael Egholm,Carsten Behrens,Leif Christensen,Henrik Hansen,Tore Vulpius,Kenneth H. Petersen,Rolf H. Berg,Peter E. Nielsen,Ole Buchardt +9 more
TL;DR: The preparation of mixed-sequence PNAs (PNAs containing the four natural nucleobases; thymine, cytosine, adenine, and guanine) is described, essentially following standard solid phase peptide synthesis protocols.

Method for degradation and sequencing of polymers which sequentially eliminate terminal residues
James M. Coull,Leif Christensen +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method and an apparatus for sequentially degrading at least a portion of a polymer of backbone repeating units, the polymer having a terminal repeating unit comprised of a nucleophile and a backbone carbonyl carbon distant from the nucleophile, comprising the steps of first initiating attack of said nucleophile upon said backbone carbon by raising the energy level to activate said nucleophase for said attack, and, lastly maintaining the reaction conditions necessary for repeating steps a and b until the portion of the desired is degraded.
Journal ArticleDOI
Peptide nucleic acids containing adenine or guanine recognize thymine and cytosine in complementary DNA sequences
TL;DR: Peptide nucleic acid monomer building blocks for the introduction of G and A are prepared and used to synthesise H-T4XT5-Lys-NH2(X = G or A), which are shown by Tm measurements to recognize their complementary DNA sequences in both the parallel and anti-parallel mode.

Acylated exendin-4 compounds
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed new therapeutic peptides, i.e. new protracted Exendin-4 compounds, pharmaceutical compositions and the use of such, and provided new peptide compositions.
