Realization of high-contrast gratings operating at 10 μm.

TL;DR: A new material pairing is presented that can be used to realize high-contrast gratings at wavelengths of 10 μm and greater using only optical lithography, and it is experimentally shown that the spectral response of gratings that are fabricated using such a process show good agreement with theoretically predicted performance.

TL;DR: In this paper, a conical laser sheet is placed around the face of a medical dummy where it illuminates the aerosol emitted during a simulated breath, and the curved laser sheet highlights both penetration through the mask fabric and leakage around the edges of the mask.

Metal nanoinks as chemically stable surface enhanced scattering (SERS) probes for the analysis of blue BIC ballpoint pens

TL;DR: Metal nanoinks constituted by Ag nanoparticles and Au nanorods were employed as probes for the Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) analysis of a blue BIC ballpoint pen, allowing easy identification of phthalocyanine Blue 38 and triarylene crystal violet in the ink mixture.
