Experimental study on the monitoring of rockburst in tunnels under dry and saturated conditions using AE and infrared monitoring

TL;DR: In this article, a serials of laboratory experiments of sandstone tunnel models were conducted to investigate the influence of water contents on rockburst, and the results showed that water softens the rocks and reduces their mechanical parameters, leading to a lower dynamic failure rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency properties of acoustic emissions from the dry and saturated rock

TL;DR: In this paper, a frequency division processing method for the standard description expressions of discrete signals and for defining the integrated characteristics of acoustic emission (AE) signals was proposed, and the frequency evolution of rock fracture-related AEs was investigated under uniaxial loading conditions, and rocks in dry and saturated states were examined and compared using AE information in FBs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fracture evolution and localization effect of damage in rock based on wave velocity imaging technology

TL;DR: In this paper, a multiaxial multi-stage loading test was conducted on siltstone to attain wave velocity imagings during rock fracture, and the experimental result showed that the wave velocity images enable three-dimensional visualization of the extent and spatial position of damage to the rock.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study on Spectrum Characteristics and Clustering of Acoustic Emission Signals from Rock Fracture

TL;DR: In this paper, acoustic emission waveform signals during rock loading are acquired through uniaxial compression test of granite in laboratory and digital image correlation technology is used, showing the usefulness of the DIC and acoustic emission techniques in experiment of that type.

Rock acoustic emission source positioning method

TL;DR: In this paper, a rock acoustic emission source positioning method is presented, where the acoustic emission sensors are placed on the periphery of the cuboid sample, and vaseline is smeared between the sensors and the sample.
