Experimental study on the monitoring of rockburst in tunnels under dry and saturated conditions using AE and infrared monitoring

TL;DR: In this article, a serials of laboratory experiments of sandstone tunnel models were conducted to investigate the influence of water contents on rockburst, and the results showed that water softens the rocks and reduces their mechanical parameters, leading to a lower dynamic failure rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal radiation characteristics of stress evolution of a circular tunnel excavation under different confining pressures

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used infrared thermography for the study of the thermal radiation characteristics of stress evolution induced by a circular tunnel excavation during the biaxial compression tests of the similar material, together with the uniaaxial compression test for the cylindrical specimen of the same material.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency properties of acoustic emissions from the dry and saturated rock

TL;DR: In this paper, a frequency division processing method for the standard description expressions of discrete signals and for defining the integrated characteristics of acoustic emission (AE) signals was proposed, and the frequency evolution of rock fracture-related AEs was investigated under uniaxial loading conditions, and rocks in dry and saturated states were examined and compared using AE information in FBs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acoustic Emission Signal Recognition of Different Rocks Using Wavelet Transform and Artificial Neural Network

TL;DR: In this article, the wavelet transform was used to decompose the acoustic emission (AE) signals, and the artificial neural network was established to recognize the rock types and noise (artificial knock noise and electrical noise).
Journal ArticleDOI

The characteristics of crack existence and development during rock shear fracturing evolution

TL;DR: In this article, an acoustic emission (AE) monitoring system and a CCD camera are used to catch the characteristics of crack evolution, showing that crack status is influenced by rock physical properties and its stress boundary, there exists a positive correlation between normal force and crack geometry (such as the angle of en echelon crack).
