Lamellar orientation in the blends of linear low density polyethylene and isotactic polypropylene induced by dynamic packing injection molding

TL;DR: In this article, the authors carried out 2D X-ray scattering experiments on the blends of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and isotactic polypropylene (iPP) obtained by dynamic packing injection molding in which the melt was firstly injected into the mold then forced to move repeatedly in a chamber by two pistons that moved reversibly with the same frequency as the solidification progressively occurred from the mold wall to the core part.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of inertia and elastic retraction on flow-induced crystallization of isotactic polypropylene

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of nonquiescent relaxation of isotactic polypropylene on flow-induced crystallization (FIC) is investigated by a combination of particle tracking velocimeter (PTV) with a cone-plate shearing geometry and synchrotron radiation microbeam wide-angle X-ray diffraction (SR-μWAXD), which is aimed to correlate real flow profile and distribution of crystal orientation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stretch-induced structural evolution of poly (vinyl alcohol) at different concentrations of boric acid: An in-situ synchrotron radiation small- and wide- angle X-ray scattering study

TL;DR: In this article, the structural and mechanical evolution of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) induced by uniaxial deformation at different concentrations of boric acid is systematically studied with in-situ synchrotron radiation small-and wide-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS).
Journal ArticleDOI

Strain-Rate-Dependent Phase Transition Mechanism in Polybutene-1 during Uniaxial Stretching: From Quasi-Static to Dynamic Loading Conditions

TL;DR: In this article , a stretching-induced phase transition mechanism of polybutene-1 (PB-1) consisting of form II crystals was investigated in three strain-rate regions (A, B, and C) spanning six orders of magnitude (from 0.005 to 100 s-1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of interchain interactions on the tumbling of chains in a polymer melt during shear flow

TL;DR: In this paper, a Brownian dynamics simulation is used to investigate the influences of the interchain interactions on the polymer chain motions in both dilute solutions and melts under steady shear flow.
