Journal ArticleDOI

Curcumin and its nano-formulation: the kinetics of tissue distribution and blood-brain barrier penetration.

TL;DR: Nanoparticulation significantly prolonged retention time of curcumin in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus and hippocampus, providing further understanding for the possible therapeutic effects ofCurcumin and C-NPs in further pre-clinical and clinical research.
Journal ArticleDOI

Drug-drug interactions of silymarin on the perspective of pharmacokinetics.

TL;DR: Silymarin has limited effect on the pharmacokinetics of several drugs in vivo; despite sily marin decreasing the activity of cytochrome P-450 (CYPs) enzymes, UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) enzyme, and reducing P-glycoprotein (P-gp) transport.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of silibinin in rat plasma and bile for hepatobiliary excretion and oral bioavailability application.

TL;DR: Intra- and inter-assay precision and accuracy of silibinin fell well within the predefined limits of acceptability (<15%) and the concentration-response relationship from the present method indicated linearity over a concentration range of 0.5-100 microg/mL.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation of Luteolin and Luteolin-7-O-glucoside from Dendranthema morifolium Ramat Tzvel and Their Pharmacokinetics in Rats.

TL;DR: Luteolin-7-O-glucoside is primarily hydrolyzed to luteolin in the gastrointestinal tract and then absorbed into the systemic circulation and the pharmacokinetic data demonstrate that the areas under the concentration curves (AUCs) of lutenolin were 261 ± 33 and 611 ± 89 after luteol administration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Optimised nano-formulation on the bioavailability of hydrophobic polyphenol, curcumin, in freely-moving rats.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that PLGA nano-formulation could potentially be applied to increase bioavailability of hydrophobic polyphenols and prolong its retention time in the body and improve bioavailability.
