Journal ArticleDOI
Recent progress in half-Heusler thermoelectric materials
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized the recent progress and advances in half-Heusler (HH) thermoelectric materials and proposed a mini-review approach to reduce thermal conductivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using the 18-Electron Rule To Understand the Nominal 19-Electron Half-Heusler NbCoSb with Nb Vacancies
Wolfgang G. Zeier,Shashwat Anand,Lihong Huang,Ran He,Hao Zhang,Zhifeng Ren,Chris Wolverton,G. Jeffrey Snyder +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that NbCoSb has a half-Heusler phase with composition Nb0.84CoSiSb and that the number of stable Nb vacancies reduces the overall electron count, which brings the stoichiometry of the compound close to an 18 electron count.
Journal ArticleDOI
A new n-type half-Heusler thermoelectric material NbCoSb
Lihong Huang,Lihong Huang,Ran He,Shuo Chen,Hao Zhang,Keshab Dahal,Haiqing Zhou,Hui Wang,Qinyong Zhang,Zhifeng Ren +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new n-type thermoelectric compound NbCoSb with half-Heusler (HH) structure having valence electron count of 19, different from the traditional 18, was made.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced thermoelectric properties of n-type NbCoSn half-Heusler by improving phase purity
Ran He,Lihong Huang,Yumei Wang,Yumei Wang,Georgy Samsonidze,Boris Kozinsky,Qinyong Zhang,Zhifeng Ren +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the thermoelectric properties of NbCoSn-based n-type half-Heuslers were obtained through arc melting, ball milling, and hot pressing process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and thermoelectric properties of n-type half-Heusler compound VCoSb with valence electron count of 19
Hao Zhang,Yumei Wang,Yumei Wang,Lihong Huang,Lihong Huang,Shuo Chen,Heshab Dahal,Dezhi Wang,Zhifeng Ren +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate experimentally that half-Heusler compound VCoSb is in fact a good thermoelectric material, which indicates the semiconductor-not metallic-like behavior.
