Speckle Reduction in Laser Projection Systems by Diffractive Optical Elements

TL;DR: A new method for eliminating speckles in the far field by using a diffractive optical element is proposed, which can be reduced to a few percent while good beam quality is preserved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial phase-stepped interferometry using a holographic optical element

TL;DR: In this paper, two new techniques for spatial phase stepping using a computer-generated holographic optical element (HOE) are described, and implemented with electronic speckle pattern interferom- etry, although they could be applied to other optical metrology methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solutions and analyses of fractional-Talbot array illuminations

TL;DR: In this article, a simple step-by-step numerical method is described to calculate the positions of the fractional-Talbot pure-phase distributions and their corresponding phases and it is observed that the pure-Phase distributions will only be at p(1/2M)ZT distances (where ZT is the Talbot distance, p and M are integers and have no common divisor).
Journal ArticleDOI

Integrated optical pickup system for axial dual focus

TL;DR: An optical pickup that acquires data from both layers of a dual-layer digital versatile disk simultaneously and creates two axial foci separated by a spacing of 55 mum is proposed.
