Molecular signaling in temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis

TL;DR: This review article summarized current findings of signaling pathways involved in TMJ OA, including Wnt/β-catenin, TGF-β and BMP, Indian Hedgehog, FGF, NF-κB, and Notch pathways, to better understand the pathological mechanisms of TMj OA and define the molecular targets for TM J OA treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

AMPK Signaling in Energy Control, Cartilage Biology, and Osteoarthritis.

TL;DR: The role of AMPK in mediating skeletal development and related diseases remains obscure as mentioned in this paper, however, the emerging advances of AMP studies in energy control, in addition to the current discoveries of AMMP in chondrocyte homeostasis, osteoarthritis (OA) development, and the signaling interaction of AMPC with other pathways, such as mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin), Wnt, and NF-κB (nuclear factor κB) under OA condition.
