Effect of ettringite on thaumasite formation
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of ettringite on thaumasite formation was investigated using synthetic clinker phases, fly ash and nanosilica, and the results indicated that the formation occurs through the heterogeneous nucleation of thaumaasite on the surface of ETTringite, due to the structural similarities of these minerals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of TEA on Fly Ash Solubility and Early Age Strength of Mortar
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of triethanolamine (TEA) on the dissolution behavior of fly ash in an alkaline solution and the effects of TEA addition on the heat evolution rates of fly-ash pastes was investigated using isothermal calorimetry.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ingress of NaCl in concrete with alkali reactive aggregate: effect on silicon solubility
TL;DR: In this paper, expansion measurements with pore solution analysis by ICP-OES and XRD measurements on concretes and hydrated cement pastes were performed with the hydrogeochemical simulation program PHREEQC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tribochemical and thermal activation of α-c2s hydrate as precursor for cementitious binders
TL;DR: In this paper, the favorable chemical composition of alternative hydraulic cementitious binder (HCB) consisting of synthetic α-C2S hydrate and quartz, as well as the impact of tribochemical-thermal treatment on HCB properties was determined.
