Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial Surgical Silk Sutures Using a High-Performance Slow-Release Carrier Coating System.

TL;DR: Generally speaking, all coated sutures show potential in acting as antibacterial suture materials, and M1 group is proved to have a higher prospect for clinical applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial wound dressing from chitosan/polyethylene oxide nanofibers mats embedded with silver nanoparticles.

TL;DR: The silver-containing chitosan/polyethylene oxide nanofibers showed excellent cytocompatibility and certain tensile strength and excellent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Composite chitosan/poly(ethylene oxide) electrospun nanofibrous mats as novel wound dressing matrixes for the controlled release of drugs

TL;DR: In vitro drug-release evaluations showed that the crosslinking could control the rate and period of drug release in wound-healing applications and both types of CS/PEO and drug-containing CS/ PEO nanofibers showed excellent cytocompatibility in the cytotoxicity assays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantitative physical and handling characteristics of novel antibacterial braided silk suture materials

TL;DR: Good physical and handling characteristics can be maintained by selecting appropriate coating parameters, and the fineness ratio of shell and core strands may enhance knot-pull tensile strength.
Journal ArticleDOI

Research on Dyeing and Ultraviolet Protection of Silk Fabric Using Vegetable Dyes Extracted from Flos Sophorae

TL;DR: In this paper, the ultraviolet protection properties of silk fabrics using vegetable dyes extracted from Flos Sophorae were discussed, and it was found that the aqueous solution of this vegetable dye has excellent thermal stability as well as stability in acid conditions.
