Bond durability of BFRP bars embedded in concrete under seawater conditions and the long-term bond strength prediction

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a bond durability test for the basalt fiber-reinforced polymer (BFRP) bar to concrete immersed in seawater, and the prediction results indicated that the maximum bond strength retention of the BV bar in a chloride environment would be above 93%, 78% and 47% after 50 years' service in dry, moist and moisture saturated environment, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Revealing the temperature history in concrete after fire exposure by microscopic analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, three methods for determining the maximum temperature to which a concrete structure was submitted during a fire are studied, including the physico-chemical transformations of heated concrete with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), features visible under the polarising and fluorescent microscope (PFM), and the influence of heat on the color of the aggregates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nondestructive determination of the steel fiber content in concrete slabs with an open-ended coaxial probe

TL;DR: A microwave nondestructive testing technique to measure the steel fiber content in hardened concrete slabs is presented and it can be concluded that the presented technique is a promising one.
