PGR5-PGRL1-Dependent Cyclic Electron Transport Modulates Linear Electron Transport Rate in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Marjaana Suorsa,Fabio Rossi,Luca Tadini,Mathias Labs,Monica Colombo,Peter Jahns,Martin M. Kater,Dario Leister,Giovanni Finazzi,Eva-Mari Aro,Roberto Barbato,Paolo Pesaresi +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that PGR5-PGRL1-mediated cyclic electron transport (CET) plays a major role in ΔpH formation and induction of NPQ in C3 plants.
Journal ArticleDOI
GUN1 Controls Accumulation of the Plastid Ribosomal Protein S1 at the Protein Level and Interacts with Proteins Involved in Plastid Protein Homeostasis
Luca Tadini,Paolo Pesaresi,Tatjana Kleine,Fabio Rossi,Arthur Guljamow,Frederik Sommer,Timo Mühlhaus,Michael Schroda,Simona Masiero,Mathias Pribil,Maxi Rothbart,Boris Hedtke,Bernhard Grimm,Dario Leister +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that GUN1 also operates in adult plants, contributing to operational control of chloroplasts, and it is speculated that retrograde signaling might involve GUN1-dependent formation of protein complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arabidopsis plants lacking PsbQ and PsbR subunits of the oxygen-evolving complex show altered PSII super-complex organization and short-term adaptive mechanisms
Yagut Allahverdiyeva,Marjaana Suorsa,Fabio Rossi,Andrea Pavesi,Martin M. Kater,Alessia Antonacci,Luca Tadini,Mathias Pribil,Anja Schneider,Gerhard Wanner,Dario Leister,Dario Leister,Eva-Mari Aro,Roberto Barbato,Paolo Pesaresi +14 more
TL;DR: Gene expression and immunoblot analyses indicate that accumulation of each of these proteins is highly dependent on the presence of the others, and is controlled at the post-transcriptional level, whereas PsbO stability appears to be less sensitive to depletion of other subunits of the oxygen-evolving complex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Versatile roles of Arabidopsis plastid ribosomal proteins in plant growth and development.
Isidora Romani,Luca Tadini,Fabio Rossi,Simona Masiero,Mathias Pribil,Peter Jahns,Martin M. Kater,Dario Leister,Paolo Pesaresi +8 more
TL;DR: Reverse genetics was employed to study the function of eight plastid ribosomal proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana and found that PRPS20, -L1, - l4, - L27 and -L35 are required for basal ribosome activity, which becomes crucial at the globular stage and during the transition from the Globular to the heart stage of embryogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improved Drought Stress Response in Alfalfa Plants Nodulated by an IAA Over-producing Rhizobium Strain
Roberto Defez,Anna Andreozzi,Michael Dickinson,Adrian J. Charlton,Luca Tadini,Paolo Pesaresi,Carmen Bianco +6 more
TL;DR: The results presented herein indicate that the variations in endogenous IAA levels, triggered by the overproduction of rhizobial IAA inside root nodules, positively affected drought stress response in nodulated alfalfa plants.
