Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular characterization and regulation of the angiotensin-converting enzyme type 2/angiotensin-(1-7)/MAS receptor axis during the ovulation process in cattle.
Joabel Tonellotto dos Santos,Rogério Ferreira,Bernardo Garziera Gasperin,Lucas Carvalho Siqueira,João Francisco de Oliveira,Robson A.S. Santos,Adelina M. Reis,Paulo Bayard Dias Gonçalves +7 more
TL;DR: The Ang-(1-7), MAS receptor, ACE2, NEP and PEP profiles in preovulatory follicles indicate that Ang-( 1-7) plays a role in the regulation of the ovulatory process in cattle.
Journal ArticleDOI
Angiotensin II, progesterone, and prostaglandins are sequential steps in the pathway to bovine oocyte nuclear maturation.
Lucas Carvalho Siqueira,Marcos Henrique Barreta,Bernardo Garziera Gasperin,Rodrigo C. Bohrer,Joabel Tonellotto dos Santos,José Buratini Junior,João Francisco Coelho de Oliveira,Paulo Bayard Dias Gonçalves +7 more
TL;DR: It is inferred that AngII, P(4) and PGs are sequential steps in the same pathway that culminates with bovine oocyte maturation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment of bovine spermatozoa viability using different cooling protocols prior to cryopreservation
Gabriel Pereira,Eduardo G. Becker,Lucas Carvalho Siqueira,Rogério Ferreira,Carolina K. Severo,Vitor S. Truzzi,João Francisco Coelho de Oliveira,Paulo Bayard Dias Gonçalves +7 more
TL;DR: In conclusion, a rapid cooling curve is detrimental to the spermatozoa and affects the post-thaw spermatozosan integrity of bovine frozen semen.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trypanosoma evansi: cholinesterase activity in acutely infected Wistar rats.
Patrícia Wolkmer,Sonia Terezinha dos Anjos Lopes,Carina Franciscato,Aleksandro Schafer da Silva,Carolina Kist Traesel,Lucas Carvalho Siqueira,Maria Ester Pereira,Silvia Gonzalez Monteiro,Cinthia M. Mazzanti +8 more
TL;DR: Reductions in the activity of cholinesterase occur in acute infection by T. evansi in rats and this demonstrates an important change occurring in animals infected by the protozoan and may indicate a potential role the enzymes play in the mechanism of disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pre-treatment with curcumin modulates acetylcholinesterase activity and proinflammatory cytokines in rats infected with Trypanosoma evansi
Patrícia Wolkmer,Cássia B. da Silva,Francine C. Paim,Marta M.M.F. Duarte,Verônica Souza Paiva Castro,Heloisa Einloft Palma,Raqueli T. França,Diandra Visentini Felin,Lucas Carvalho Siqueira,Sonia Terezinha dos Anjos Lopes,Maria Rosa Chitolina Schetinger,Silvia Gonzalez Monteiro,Cinthia M. Mazzanti +12 more
TL;DR: It is found that Cur is not so important as an antitrypanosomal activity but as immunomodulator agent, and preventive use of Cur stimulates anti-inflammatory mechanisms, reducing an excessive inflammatory response.
