Measurement of the t [bar over t] production cross-section using eμ events with b-tagged jets in pp collisions at √s = 7 and 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2866 more
Journal ArticleDOI

A fast active linear gate for experiments in nuclear and particle physics

TL;DR: In this article, an active linear gate that is able to transmit fast pulses with minimum distortion is presented. But the gate exhibits switching times better than 3 ns, null pedestal, and a feedthrough of 0.3%.

Electron/Jet Neural Discrimination based on Nonlinear Independent Components for ATLAS Second-Level Trigger

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed the application of the Nonlinear Independent Component Analysis (NICA) model in the ATLAS second-level trigger to estimate underlying factors of calorimeter information, which achieved 97.0% electron identification for 7.7% of background noise (QCD Jets) acceptance.

A search for high-mass resonances decaying to τ[superscript +]τ[superscript −] in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +2897 more
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Análise De Componentes Independentes Para Filtragem Online Num Ambiente De Alta Taxa De Eventos E Informação Segmentada

TL;DR: In this paper, an online particle discrimination system is proposed for the high level trigger of ATLAS particle detector, which will be placed at one of the collision points of LHC, the next generation particle collider experiment.
