TL;DR: Coronavirus disease‐2019 severity appears to parallel the host immune response, with a subset of patients developing COVID‐19 cytokine storm syndrome (CSS), and similar strategies using tocilizumab are being investigated in CO VID‐19.
Journal ArticleDOI
IgG4-related disease and lymphocyte-variant hypereosinophilic syndrome: A comparative case series.

TL;DR: To compare the clinical and laboratory features of IgG4‐related disease (IgG 4‐RD) and lymphocyte‐variant hypereosinophilic syndrome (L‐HES), two rare diseases that often present with lymphadenopathy, gastrointestinal symptoms, eOSinophilia, and elevated immunoglobulins/IgE are compared.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyclonal hypergammaglobulinaemia: assessment, clinical interpretation, and management
Eric J. Zhao,Eric J. Zhao,Catherine V Cheng,Catherine V Cheng,Andre Mattman,Andre Mattman,Andre Mattman,Luke Y.C. Chen,Luke Y.C. Chen +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, a practical approach to assessing and managing polyclonal hypergammaglobulinaemia in adults is presented, which can also provide an important diagnostic clue of rare diseases such as histiocyte disorders, autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome, Castleman disease, and IgG4-related disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Residents' views of the role of classroom-based learning in graduate medical education through the lens of academic half days
TL;DR: Engagement in classroom learning occurs through participation in clinically oriented discussions that highlight expert reasoning processes, and formal classroom teaching, which focuses on knowledge acquisition, can enhance informal learning occurring during clinical activity.
