Internal mammary and medial supraclavicular irradiation in breast cancer
P. Poortmans,Sandra Collette,C. Kirkove,E. Van Limbergen,Volker Budach,H. Struikmans,Laurence Collette,A. Fourquet,Philippe Maingon,M.C. Valli,K. De Winter,Simone Marnitz,Isabelle Barillot,L. Scandolaro,Ernest Vonk,Carla C. Rodenhuis,Hugo Marsiglia,N. Weidner,G. van Tienhoven,C. Glanzmann,Abraham Kuten,Rodrigo Arriagada,Harry Bartelink,W. Van den Bogaert +23 more
TL;DR: In patients with early-stage breast cancer, irradiation of the regional nodes had a marginal effect on overall survival, disease-free survival and distant disease- free survival were improved, and breast-cancer mortality was reduced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Internal mammary and medial supraclavicular lymph node chain irradiation in stage I–III breast cancer (EORTC 22922/10925): 15-year results of a randomised, phase 3 trial
Philip Poortmans,Caroline Weltens,Catherine Fortpied,C. Kirkove,Karine Peignaux-Casasnovas,Volker Budach,Femke van der Leij,Ernest Vonk,N. Weidner,Sofia Rivera,Geertjan van Tienhoven,Alain Fourquet,Georges Noël,M.C. Valli,Matthias Guckenberger,Eveline Koiter,Séverine Racadot,Roxolyana Abdah-Bortnyak,Erik F.M. Van Limbergen,Antoine Engelen,Peter De Brouwer,Henk Struikmans,Harry Bartelink +22 more
TL;DR: The scheduled 15-year analysis of the EORTC 22922/10925 trial, which aims to investigate the impact on overall survival of elective internal mammary and medial supraclavicular (IM-MS) irradiation, shows a significant reduction of breast cancer mortality and any breast cancer recurrence by IM-MS irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Patterns of Practice of Regional Nodal Irradiation in Breast Cancer: Results of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) NOdal RAdiotherapy (NORA) Survey
Yazid Belkacemi,Orit Kaidar-Person,P. Poortmans,Mahmut Ozsahin,M.C. Valli,Nicola S. Russell,Ian Kunkler,J.J. Hermans,Abraham Kuten,G. van Tienhoven,Helen A. Westenberg +10 more
TL;DR: The NORA survey is unique in evaluating the impact of SLNB/ALND status on adjuvant RNI decision-making and volumes after BCS/TM with or without PST and could help to design future specific RNI trials in the SLNB era without ALND in patients receiving or not PST.
Journal ArticleDOI
Side Effects 15 Years After Lymph Node Irradiation in Breast Cancer: Randomized EORTC Trial 22922/10925.
Philip Poortmans,Henk Struikmans,Peter De Brouwer,Caroline Weltens,Catherine Fortpied,C. Kirkove,Volker Budach,Karine Peignaux-Casasnovas,Femke van der Leij,Ernest Vonk,M.C. Valli,Geertjan vanTienhoven,N. Weidner,Georges Noël,Matthias Guckenberger,Eveline Koiter,Erik vanLimbergen,Antoine Engelen,Alain Fourquet,Harry Bartelink +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated long-term late side effects after internal mammary and medial supraclavicular (IM-MS) lymph node irradiation to improve shared decision making.
