Surface states and space charge layer dynamics on Si(111)2×1: A free electron laser-synchrotron radiation study

TL;DR: In this paper, a time resolved core level spectroscopy study was performed on photoexcited Si(111)2×1 surfaces with subnanosecond resolution, which enabled measuring band bending fluctuations, caused by surface carrier dynamics, during the first nanosecond after photoexcitation; differences in the Si2p core level lineshape, dependent on the pumpprobe time delay, were also observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transient charge carrier distribution at UV-photoexcited SiO 2 / S i interfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used time-resolved pump-probe core level photoemission spectroscopy to study the transient regime of the charge distribution at the SiO/SiS interfaces after photoexcitation with an UV free electron laser.
Journal ArticleDOI

Suppression of the sawtooth instability in a storage ring by free-electron laser: an example of nonlinear stabilization by noise.

TL;DR: In this article, a model which allows the characterization of the system evolution and the determination of the conditions leading to the suppression of instabilities of sawtooth type is presented. And the conclusions of the model are confirmed by a comparison with experimental results on the Super Aco Storage Ring-Free Electron Laser.
Journal ArticleDOI

Towards compact Free Electron–Laser based on laser plasma accelerators

TL;DR: In this article, the strategies towards laser plasma based acceleration based FELs are discussed, including the mitigation of the large energy spread and divergence of these beams should be mitigated.
