The Cyclobutadiene Problem

Cyclobutadien ist in den letzten Jahren erneut in den Blickpunkt des Interesses geruckt. Durch Anwendung der Matrix-Isolier-Technik ist es jetzt moglich, Cyclobutadiene als Monomere in Matrices einzufrieren. Auf diese Weise sind sowohl der unsubstituierte Grundkorper als auch alkylsubstituierte Derivate einer Untersuchung bequem zuganglich. In diesem Fortschrittsbericht wird ein Uberblick uber das Gesamtgebiet gegeben; im Vordergrund stehen jedoch die Ergebnisse eigener Arbeiten uber dieses klassische Problem der organischen Chemie.

Bei Anlagerung von Chlor an Cyclooctatetraen entsteht als Hauptprodukt das bicyclische Cyclooctatetraen-cis-dichlorid (cis-7.8-Dichlor-bicyclo[4.2.0]octadien-(2.4) (II) neben wenigtrans-Dichlorid (I). Das aus Cyclooctatetraen-cis-dichlorid und Acetylendicarbonsaure-dimethylester erhaltene Diels-Alder-Addukt liefert bei der thermischen Zersetzung neben Phthalsaureester cis-3.4-Dichlorcyclobuten (VIII). Einige Umsetzungen dieser Verbindung werden beschrieben.

The mechanism of the etard reaction

Durch Umsetzung der Metalltrichloride AsCl3, SbCl3 und BiCl3 mit NaC5H5 in Diathylather bzw. Pentan unter milden Temperaturbedingungen wurden gemas 






erstmals gelbes As(C5H5)3 und gelbes Sb(C5H5)3 sowie das schon bekannte orangefarbene bzw. Schwarze Bi(C5H5)3 in verbesserter Ausbeute erhalten. IR- und 1H-NMR-Unter-suchungen beweisen unterschiedliche Strukturen der drei Metallorganyle. Es findet sich ein Gang von As(C5H5)3 mit reiner Dien-Struktur der Ringe und C3v-Symmetrie des Molekulgerustes zum schwarzen Bi(C5H5)3 mit π-C5H5-Ringen und D3h-Symmetrie. Bei Sb(C5H5)3 und dem orangefarbenen Bi(C5H5)3 durfte ein rascher Wechsel zwischen σ- und π-gebundenen Ringen vorliegen.



On the Metal Tri-cyclopentadienyls of Arsenic, Antimony and Bismuth



By reacting the metal trichlorides AsCl3, SbCl3, and BiCl3 with NaC5H5 in diethylether or pentane under mild temperature conditions according to the equation 






Yellow As(C5H5)3 and yellow Sb(C5H5)3 were obtained for the first time as well as the known orange and the black Bi(C5H5)3 in improved yield. I.r. and H-n. m. r. studies establish different structures for the three metal organyls. There is trend from a pure diene structure of the rings and C3v symmetry of the molecular skeleton in the case of As(C5H5)3 to π-C5H5 rings, and D3h symmetry of the skeleton in the case of black Bi(C5H5)3. A rapid interconversion of σ-and π-bounded rings should occur in the cases of Sb(C5H5)3 and orange Bi(C5H5)3.

Über die Metall-tri-cyclopentadienyle des Arsens, Antimons und Wismuts

Bei der reduktiven Zersetzung des aus dem Hexinol 1 mit (C6H5CN)2PdCl2 dargestellten Komplexes (C18H29OPdCl)2 entsteht das Furan 8. Die Oxydation von 8 fuhrt zum Diketon 9 und die Umsetzung mit Brom zu den Furanen 11, 13, 15 und zum Diketon 17. Das Diketon 9 wird durch Brom zum Furan 13 cyclisiert. Der Ringschlus zum Furan aus den α.β-ungesattigten Diketonen in Gegenwart von HBr wird diskutiert.



Reactions of Acetylenes with Transition Metals, II. Treatment of 2.5.5-Trimethylhex-3-yn-2-ol with Bis(benzonitril)palladium Chloride



Reductive decomposition of the complex (C18H29OPdCl)2, obtained from the hexynol 1 with (C6H5CN)2PdCl2, yielded the furan 8. This on oxidation gave the diketone 9 and on treatment with bromine the furans 11, 13, 15 and the diketone 17. The diketone 9 cyclisized with bromine to the furan 13. The formation of the furan ring from α.β-unsaturated diketones with HBr is discussed.
