Snow leopard Panthera uncia predation of livestock: An assessment of local perceptions in the Annapurna Conservation Area, Nepal

Western gorilla diet: a synthesis from six sites.
M. Elizabeth Rogers,Katharine Abernethy,Magdalena Bermejo,Chloé Cipolletta,Diane M. Doran,Kelley McFarland,Tomoaki Nishihara,Melissa J. Remis,Caroline E. G. Tutin +8 more
TL;DR: It was confirmed that the western gorilla diet is always eclectic, including up to 230 items and 180 species, and eight plant families provide important foods at five, or all six, sites, suggesting that it may be possible in the future to predict which habitats are the most suitable for gorillas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gorilla diet in the Lope Reserve, Gabon: A nutritional analysis
M. Elizabeth Rogers,Fiona Maisels,Elizabeth A. Williamson,Michel Fernandez,Caroline E. G. Tutin +4 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that gorillas exploit the broad frugivore niche in West African lowland forests, and are part of the frugavore community there.
Journal ArticleDOI
Foraging profiles of sympatric lowland gorillas and chimpanzees in the Lopé Reserve, Gabon.
Caroline E. G. Tutin,Michel Fernandez,M. Elizabeth Rogers,Elizabeth A. Williamson,William C. McGrew +4 more
TL;DR: The authors compare the diets of gorillas and chimpanzees and find that gorillas eat more vegetative plant parts than do chimpanzees, but niche separation is most obvious in periods of fruit scarcity when the two species show different strategies that reduce competition for food.
Journal ArticleDOI
Composition of the diet of lowland gorillas at Lopé in Gabon
TL;DR: This report describes the composition of the diet of lowland gorillas, Gorilla gorilla gorilla, at Lopé in central Gabon, which is the most frugivorous population studied so far.
