Journal ArticleDOI

Chemistry of Toona ciliata and Cedrela odorata graft (Meliaceae): chemosystematic and ecological significance

TL;DR: The difference in meliacin composition and the finding of pregnanes do not seem to favour the affiliation of Toona to the Swietenioideae, and the basis of the induced resistance in the graft against Hypsipyla grandella is clarified.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flavonoids from the fruits of Murraya paniculata

TL;DR: Nine flavonoids of Murraya paniculata, including 8-hydroxy-3,5,7,3′,4′,5′-hexamethoxyflavone, were identified and the latter two compounds appear to be novel.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Triterpenoids and Limonoids Isolated from Cabralea canjerana and Carapa guianensis (Meliaceae) against Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith)

TL;DR: The activities of two triterpenoids and cabraleadiol, and four limonoids, methyl angolensate, 3-β-deacetylfi ssinolide, 7-deacetoxy-7-oxogedunin, and β-photogedun, isolated from arillus of Carapa guianensis and fruits and seeds of Cabralea canjerana (Meliaceae), were evaluated against the fall armyworm Spodopter
Journal ArticleDOI

Acridone alkaloids as potent inhibitors of cathepsin V.

TL;DR: Experimental and computational approaches, including biological evaluation, mode of action assessment and modeling studies were successfully employed in the discovery of a small series of acridone alkaloid derivatives as competitive inhibitors of catV, with the most potent inhibitor having a value of 200 nM.
