Journal ArticleDOI

Electron Acceleration by a Wake Field Forced by an Intense Ultrashort Laser Pulse

TL;DR: It is shown that a gain in maximum electron energy of up to 200 megaelectronvolts can be achieved, along with an improvement in the quality of the ultrashort electron beam in the forced laser wake field regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design and characterization of a near-diffraction-limited femtosecond 100-TW 10-Hz high-intensity laser system

TL;DR: In this paper, the design and characterization of a femtosecond high-intensity laser system emitting a near-diffraction-limited beam was presented, which was dimensioned in order to reach intensities in excess of 1020 W/cm2 at a high repetition rate for ultrahigh-field physics experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI

Deuterium-deuterium fusion dynamics in low-density molecular-cluster jets irradiated by intense ultrafast laser pulses.

TL;DR: It is shown here how short bursts of neutrons can be produced using a jet of low-density deuterated methane clusters, and it is shown that, in such conditions, nuclear fusion will occur not only in the hot plasma core, but also in the cold outer region by collision processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray radiation from nonlinear Thomson scattering of an intense femtosecond laser on relativistic electrons in a helium plasma.

TL;DR: In this article, the nonlinear Thomson scattering of a 30 fs/1.5 J laser beam on plasma electrons was used to generate x-ray radiation with a broad continuous spectrum.
