Description of the small plastics fragments in marine sediments along the Alang-Sosiya ship-breaking yard, India

TL;DR: In this paper, the accumulation of small plastic debris in the intertidal sediments of the world's largest ship-breaking yard at Alang-Sosiya, India was assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Distribution, Enrichment and Accumulation of Heavy Metals in Coastal Sediments of Alang-Sosiya Ship Scrapping Yard, India

TL;DR: The degree of heavy metal contamination has been studied in bulk and fine sediments from the intertidal zone of this ship scrapping yard, two stations at 5 km distance and one reference station 60 km distance near Mahuva, towards the south.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of the emission characteristics of trace metals from coal and fuel oil fired power plants and their fate during combustion.

TL;DR: Results indicate that trace metals emissions were higher in coal-based power plant than the fuel oil-fired power plant, and moderately adequate method for trace element sampling in coal as well as oil fired power plants except for Hg.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seasonal distribution and contamination levels of total PHCs, PAHs and heavy metals in coastal waters of the Alang-Sosiya ship scrapping yard, Gulf of Cambay, India.

TL;DR: The quantitative analysis of the possible relationships among 13 variables such as Al, Fe, Pb, Mn, Cu, Zn, Cd, Cr, Co, pH, NO3-, NO2 and PO4(3-) found that the concentration of all metals is the highest in the winter season followed by the monsoon and summer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantification and classification of ship scraping waste at Alang-Sosiya, India.

TL;DR: The quantity and composition of solid waste was collected for a period of three months and the average values are presented in this work.
