Journal ArticleDOI

Classification of the myoelectric signal using time-frequency based representations

TL;DR: It is shown that feature sets based upon the short-time Fourier transform, the wavelets transform, and the wavelet packet transform provide an effective representation for classification, provided that they are subject to an appropriate form of dimensionality reduction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical decision support systems for intensive care units: using artificial neural networks.

TL;DR: An overview of applications of artificial neural networks to various medical problems, with a particular focus on the intensive care unit environment (ICU), is provided to help medical and nursing personnel to assess patient status, assist in making a diagnosis, and facilitate the selection of a course of therapy.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Score normalization in playback attack detection

TL;DR: It is shown that the use of a relative similarity score (a normalized version of the maximum similarity score) results in significant performance improvements especially in the case when the incoming recording is a severely distorted version of a stored recording utterance, as well as for the cases when SaP-independent thresholds are used.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Time-frequency representation for classification of the transient myoelectric signal

TL;DR: It is shown that feature sets based upon the short-time Fourier transform, the wavelet transform, and theWavelet packet transform provide an effective representation for classification, provided that they are subject to dimensionality reduction by principal components analysis.
