Making R&D portfolio decision is difficult, because long lead times of R&D and market and technology dynamics lead to unavailable and unreliable collected data for portfolio management. The objective of this research is to develop a fuzzy R&D portfolio selection model to hedge against the R&D uncertainty. Fuzzy set theory is applied to model uncertain and flexible project information. Since traditional project valuation methods often underestimate the risky project, a fuzzy compound-options model is used to evaluate the value of each R&D project. The R&D portfolio selection problem is formulated as a fuzzy zero-one integer programming model that can handle both uncertain and flexible parameters to determine the optimal project portfolio. A new transformation method based on qualitative possibility theory is developed to convert the fuzzy portfolio selection model into a crisp mathematical model from the risk-averse perspective. The transformed model can be solved by an optimization technique. An example is used to illustrate the proposed approach. We conclude that the proposed approach can assist decision makers in selecting suitable R&D portfolios, while there is a lack of reliable project information.

The problem of forgery detection has been well studied and the forged finger prints produces highly impacting results in the biometric based security systems. There are many algorithms discussed earlier to detect forged finger prints. However, they suffer to achieve higher performance in terms of security. In this paper, a region centric minutiae propagation measure (RCMPM) based approach. First, the finger print image is read and removes the noisy points by applying the multi level Gabor filters. The Gabor filter has been applied in multiple level which helps to remove the noise from finger print image. The enhanced image is converted into number of integral image. The integral images are generated by splitting the image into number of tiny images according to the size of window. From the integral image produced, the island, dot, enclosure, bifurcation features are extracted. Extracted features are framed as feature vector and used to estimate the RCMPM measure. Based on the RCMPM measure, the presence of forged finger print has been identified and the same has been used to identify the region which has been modified. The accuracy of forged print detection has been improved and reduces the false classification ratio.

Region Centric Minutiae Propagation Measure Orient Forgery Detection with Finger Print Analysis in Health Care Systems

Rapid growth of published Web services makes
their discovery more and more difficult. Many approaches are proposed to solve this discovery issue. Most of them are interested only in Web service's description itself and neglect the user-centric aspect of the discovery process. User's involvement may be seen as contributing information, after using or testing a service, which marks the personal opinion on service's functionality, quality or invocation cost. This kind of contribution is perceived as a participative aspect inside the Web 2.0 environment and can enhance the Web service discovery process. We illustrate in this research work, a collaborative tagging-based environment for Web service discovery, allowing users to tag or annotate a Web service using keyword or free-text. Our system proposes consequently two types of query to search tagged Web services: keyword-based and free-text. We put in place an advanced mode in the discovery by keyword which offers different ways to combine keywords together inside a query to
make it more flexible and accurate. In both types of look-up (by keyword and by free-text), synonym relation between terms is processed in order to improve the similarity computing between a query and the tagged web services. The Web services found after a discovery process are ranked according to their tags' weight, in the case of discovery by keywords.

Enhancing Web Service Discovery by using Collaborative Tagging System (extended version)

To keep the process of routing and data transmission operations, it’s needed for a proper layer of security to keep it safe from malicious attacks. So in this paper, we proposed a framework that helps in detecting the malicious nodes at each of the destinations. After the detection process, it is isolated and discarded in while path establishment through various techniques. The development of an algorithm that supports Multipath Reliable Routing helps in determining paths for a set of disjoint nodes. Based on the index of reliability the paths are reordered. Now the process of information in form of data are been dispersed from source to destination. The main primary path is set to transfer the information. The final destination in case of mismatch of information transferred from a source when received at destination then feedback is given in negative manner stating that there is a mismatch of data along with the information related to the transmission and its path. Hence due to this, the destination will be able to recover since the information is checked each time for reliability. The final results show that the proposed approach results and have a greater impact when compared to the existing methods. Further, it reduces delay in packet transmission and overhead parallel it increases the delivery of packets.

Optimised with Secure Approach in Detecting and Isolation of Malicious Nodes in MANET

The evolution of Service-Oriented Computing (SOC) provides more efficient software development methods for building and engineering new value-added service-based applications. SOC is a computing paradigm that relies on Web services as fundamental elements. Research and technical advancements in Web services composition have been considered as an effective opportunity to develop new service-based applications satisfying complex requirements rapidly and efficiently. In this paper, we present a novel approach enhancing the composition of semantic Web services. The novelty of our approach, as compared to others reported in the literature, rests on: i) mapping user's/organization's requirements with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) and semantic descriptions using ontologies, ii) considering functional requirements and also different types of non-functional requirements, such as quality of service (QoS), quality of experience (QoE), and quality of business (QoBiz), iii) using Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) technique to select the optimal set of Web services, iv) considering composability levels between sequential Web services using Relational Concept Analysis (RCA) technique to decrease the required adaptation efforts, and finally, v) validating the obtained service-based applications by performing an analytical technique, which is the monitoring. The approach experimented on an extended version of the OWLS-TC dataset, which includes more than 10830 Web services descriptions from various domains. The obtained results demonstrate that our approach allows to successfully and effectively compose Web services satisfying different types of user's functional and non-functional requirements.

Servicing Your Requirements: An FCA and RCA-Driven Approach for Semantic Web Services Composition

The problem of low rate attack detection has been well studied in different situations. However the methods suffer to achieve higher performance in low rate attack detection. The multimedia transmission is focused on transmitting video and audio which claims higher bandwidth conditions. There exists no such algorithm in detecting low rate attacks for invariant network conditions. To solve this issue, an invariant feature based approach is presented in this paper. The method maintains the network features like the routes, bandwidth conditions and traffic. Based on these features, a set of routes has been identified for each data transmission. Here, low rate attack detection is performed at the reception of any packet and the data transmission is performed using cooperative routing. From the packet features, and the route being followed, the method identifies the class of route, traffic and bandwidth conditions of the route. Using these features, the method computes Network Transmission Support measure. Based on the NTS value, the method performs low rate attack detection and improves the performance.

Efficient Discovery and Ranking of Web Services Using Non-functional QoS Requirements for Smart Grid Applications

Web Services provides a systematize way to integrate web applications over an internet protocol. As numerous web services exist in the internet, selecting appropriate web service is vital in many web service applications. Quality of Service (QoS) is the predominant parameter which is used for selecting a web service in terms of their quality. Based on user’s preference for service quality, services are ranked and best web services are selected. But the difficulty with this approach is that it is strenuous to precisely define QoS property. Hence an enhanced fuzzy multi attribute decision making algorithm for web service selection is presented in this paper. The proposed method periodically collects user’s feedback to update the web service QoS ranking. Experimental results show that the proposed method can satisfy service requester’s non-functional requirements.
