Journal ArticleDOI
Blood pressure in smokers and nonsmokers: epidemiologic findings.
TL;DR: The results show a pattern of higher BP among nonsmokers and ex-smokers than among smokers, which could not be explained by various potentially confounding factors, such as relative weight, ethnic origin, alcohol and coffee intake, and participation in leisure time sports.
Journal ArticleDOI
Double-blind vaccine-controlled randomised efficacy trial of an investigational Shigella sonnei conjugate vaccine in young adults
Dani Cohen,Dani Cohen,Shai Ashkenazi,Shai Ashkenazi,Manfred S. Green,Manfred S. Green,Michael Gdalevich,Guy Robin,Raphael Slepon,M. Yavzori,Nadav Orr,Colin Block,Colin Block,Isaac Ashkenazi,Isaac Ashkenazi,Joshua Shemer,Joshua Shemer,David N. Taylor,Thomas L. Hale,Jerald C. Sadoff,Danka Pavliakova,Rachel Schneerson,John B. Robbins +22 more
TL;DR: The high antibody concentration induced by the conjugate vaccine in volunteers who did not develop shigellosis suggests that there is an association between serum antibody titre and protection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Objective and subjective work monotony: effects on job satisfaction, psychological distress, and absenteeism in blue-collar workers.
TL;DR: The relation of objective work conditions and subjective monotony to job satisfaction, psychological distress, and sickness absence was examined in male and female workers and highlighted the significance of noting the actual work conditions in predicting employee outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduction of transmission of shigellosis by control of houseflies (musca domestica)
Dani Cohen,Manfred S. Green,Colin Block,Raphael Slepon,Ruhama Ambar,Steven S. Wasserman,Myron M. Levine +6 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that houseflies, acting as mechanical vectors, transmit Shigella (and possibly enterotoxigenic E coli) diarrhoeal infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum malondialdehyde and prevalent cardiovascular disease in hemodialysis.
Mona Boaz,Zipora Matas,Alexander Biro,Ze'ev Katzir,Manfred S. Green,Menahem Fainaru,Shmuel Smetana +6 more
