TL;DR: Evidence is added to the notion that older age, obesity and more advanced illness are factors associated to an increased risk of death among patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
Journal ArticleDOI
Retinal findings in patients with COVID-19: Results from the SERPICO-19 study.
Alessandro Invernizzi,Alessandro Invernizzi,Alessandro Torre,Salvatore Parrulli,Federico Zicarelli,Marco Schiuma,Valeria Colombo,Andrea Giacomelli,Mario Cigada,Laura Milazzo,Annalisa Ridolfo,Ivano Faggion,Laura Cordier,Marta Oldani,Sara Marini,Paolo Villa,Giuliano Rizzardini,Massimo Galli,Spinello Antinori,Giovanni Staurenghi,Luca Meroni +20 more
TL;DR: COVID-19 can affect the retina and mean arteries diameter and mean veins diameter seems directly correlated with the disease severity, and the influence of clinical/lab parameters on retinal findings was tested in CO VID-19 patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Drug-Drug Interactions and Prescription Appropriateness in Patients with COVID-19: A Retrospective Analysis from a Reference Hospital in Northern Italy.
Dario Cattaneo,Luca Pasina,Aldo P. Maggioni,Andrea Giacomelli,Letizia Oreni,Alice Covizzi,Lucia Bradanini,Marco Schiuma,Spinello Antinori,Annalisa Ridolfo,Cristina Gervasoni +10 more
TL;DR: Given the high risk of cardiotoxicity and the scant and conflicting data concerning their efficacy in treating SARS-CoV-2 infection, the use of lopinavir/ritonavir and hydroxychloroquine in patients with COVID-19 with polypharmacy needs to be carefully considered.

Retinal vessels modifications in acute and post-COVID-19.
Alessandro Invernizzi,Alessandro Invernizzi,Marco Schiuma,Salvatore Parrulli,Alessandro Torre,Federico Zicarelli,Valeria Colombo,Sara Marini,Elena Villella,Alice Ingrid Bertoni,Spinello Antinori,Giuliano Rizzardini,Massimo Galli,Luca Meroni,Andrea Giacomelli,Giovanni Staurenghi +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated retinal vessels during the acute phase of COVID-19 and after patients recovery and found that retinal vessel dilation is a good marker for systemic vascular alterations.
