Brazilian Bromeliaceae species: isolation of arylpropanoid acid derivatives and antiradical potential
Fabíola D. Rocha,Mami Yano,Márcio R. da Cunha,Felipe Teixeira Gabriel,Renato S.B. Cordeiro,Fábio De Sousa Menezes,Maria Auxiliadora Coelho Kaplan +6 more
TL;DR: The polar rhizome extracts from Bromeliaceae representatives showed better antioxidant results than the extracts from leaves and fruits of the same species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypoglycemic Effect of the Methanol flower Extract of Piper Claussenianum and the Major Constituent 2',6'-dihydroxy-4'-methoxychalcone in Streptozotocin Diabetic Rats.
André M. Marques,Sharlene L Pereira,R. A. Paiva,C. V. Cavalcante,S. Z. Sudo,Luzineide W. Tinoco,Davyson de Lima Moreira,E. F. Guimaraes,Roberto T. Sudo,Maria Auxiliadora Coelho Kaplan,Gisele Zapata Sudo +10 more
TL;DR: The inflorescence crude extract of P. claussenianum was found to be composed mainly by flavonoids and may be a potential natural source of compounds with hypoglycemic properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photosensitization and mutation induced in Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains by dorstenin, a psoralen analog isolated from Dorstenia bahiensis.
Daíse Lopes,Rodrigo Rodriguesde Oliveira,Maria Auxiliadora Coelho Kaplan,Claudia Lage,Alvaro C. Leitão +4 more
TL;DR: Compared to the high activities of psoralen and bergapten, dorstenin showed lower genotoxic effect and photosensitizing and mutational properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
A C‐Glucosylflavone from Leaves of Piper lhotzkyanum.
TL;DR: The dichloromethane fraction obtained from the methanolic extract of leaves of P. lhotzkyanum afforded a C-glucosylflavone (kaplanin) together with sakuranetin, methyl 4-methoxydihydroferulate and a mixture of methyl ferulate and dihydro-ferulate derivatives as mentioned in this paper.
IN-MIXTURE ANALYSIS OF TRITERPENES FROM Raphiodon echinus
TL;DR: The acetone crude extract of Raphiodon echinus aerial parts (Lamiaceae) yielded pure betulinic acid and three mixtures of pentacyclic triterpenes as mentioned in this paper.
