Journal ArticleDOI

Incidence, origin, and character of cerebral injury in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome treated with fetoscopic laser surgery

TL;DR: Investigation of monochorionic twins with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome treated with fetoscopic laser surgery found incidence of severe cerebral lesions is high and results mainly from antenatal injury.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term neurodevelopmental outcome in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome treated with fetoscopic laser surgery.

TL;DR: The incidence of neurodevelopmental impairment in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome survivors treated with laser is high and warrants long-term follow-up.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fetoscopic Laser Surgery in 100 Pregnancies with Severe Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome in the Netherlands

TL;DR: Results of fetoscopic laser surgery for TTTS in the authors' centre are similar to those in specialised centres in other countries, and diagnosis and treatment in the early Quintero stages resulted in significantly higher perinatal survival.
Journal ArticleDOI

Timely diagnosis of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome in monochorionic twin pregnancies by biweekly sonography combined with patient instruction to report onset of symptoms

TL;DR: To assess the value of serial ultrasound examinations together with patient instructions to report the onset of symptoms in achieving timely detection of twin‐to‐twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) in a cohort of monochorionic diamniotic twin pregnancies and to evaluate sonographic TTTS predictors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neonatal outcome in twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome treated with fetoscopic laser occlusion of vascular anastomoses.

TL;DR: Although perinatal outcome in TTTS has improved after laser therapy, neonatal mortality and morbidity rates remain high and relative risk for adverse neonatal outcome is increased 2-fold in TT TS treated with laser relative to monochorionic twins without TTTS.
