Urban street canyon flows under combined wind forcing and thermal buoyancy

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated buoyancy-driven flows within urban street canyon cavities of three aspect ratios under simultaneous inertial wind forcing and thermal buoyancy forcing by means of differential heating between two canyon side antagonistic walls for a given background flow velocity well above the canyon height.

Corrected Proof DETERMINATION OF THE RHEOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF SELF-COMPACTING CONCRETE MATRIX USING SLUMP FLOW TEST

TL;DR: In this article, an empirical model relating the yield stress to material and flow parameters is proposed to correlate the rheological parameters of SCC matrix, yield stress and plastic viscosity, to slump flow measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI

How can a Multi-scale Analysis Guide Smart Urban Energy Demand Management? An Example from London City Westminster Borough

TL;DR: In this article, the authors use the Westminster Borough of London City, as a case study to illustrate how a dynamic high-resolution dataset for the energy demands of the whole area can be analyzed using the Multi-Resolution Analysis (MRA) to provide insights into the urban and sub-urban (e.g. district) scale energy demand and therefore suggest how such an analysis can be exploited to guide smart urban energy-demand management.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

A Scaling Law for the Urban Heat Island Phenomenon: Deductions From Field Measurements and Comparisons With Existing Results From Laboratory Experiments

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report results from a multi-scale field experiment conducted in Cyprus in July 2010 in order to investigate the Urban Heat Island (UHI) in Nicosia capital city and its interaction with multiscal...
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Classification of buildings in Cyprus based on their energy performance

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the work that will be done in a research project, which will facilitate the implementation of the EPBD through the calculation of the existing Cyprus Building Stock energy behaviour.
