Stage of breast cancer at diagnosis in New Zealand: impacts of socio-demographic factors, breast cancer screening and biology
Sanjeewa Seneviratne,Sanjeewa Seneviratne,Ross Lawrenson,Vernon Harvey,Reena Ramsaroop,Mark Elwood,Nina Scott,Diana Sarfati,Ian Campbell +8 more
TL;DR: Trends in cancer stage at diagnosis and impact of socio-demographic, cancer biological and screening characteristics on cancer stage in a population-based series of women with invasive breast cancer in New Zealand are analyzed to reduce ethnic, socioeconomic and geographical disparities.
Journal ArticleDOI
The burden of non-melanoma skin cancers in Auckland, New Zealand.
Ashwini Pondicherry,Richard C. W. Martin,Ineke Meredith,Jack Rolfe,Patrick O. Emanuel,Mark Elwood +5 more
TL;DR: The clinical burden of these diseases is unknown because the New Zealand Cancer Registry does not require mandatory reporting of non‐melanoma skin cancers, basal cell carcinomas (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment and survival disparities by ethnicity in New Zealand women with stage I-III breast cancer tumour subtypes.

TL;DR: Outcomes for Māori and Pacific women could be improved by better treatment regimens especially for those with HER2+ breast cancer and for women with ER+, PR+ and HER2− breast cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mobile phone use and incidence of brain tumour histological types, grading or anatomical location: a population-based ecological study.
TL;DR: There has been no increase in any brain tumour histological type or glioma location that can be attributed to mobile phones in Australia over the periods 1982–1992, 1993–2002 and 2003–2013.
Journal ArticleDOI
International differences in lung cancer survival by sex, histological type and stage at diagnosis: an ICBP SURVMARK-2 Study.
Marzieh Araghi,Miranda Fidler-Benaoudia,Miranda Fidler-Benaoudia,Melina Arnold,Mark J. Rutherford,Aude Bardot,Jacques Ferlay,Oliver Bucher,Prithwish De,Gerda Engholm,Anna Gavin,Serena Kozie,Alana Little,Bjørn Møller,Nathalie St Jacques,Hanna E. Tervonen,Paul M. TL;DR: One-year and 3-year age-standardised net survival (NS) was estimated by sex, histological type, stage and country in lung cancer cases as mentioned in this paper, showing that survival differences were also observed within stages, suggesting that quality of treatment, healthcare system factors and prevalence of comorbid conditions may also influence survival.
