Melanie C. Matheson,Geza Benke,Joan Raven,Malcolm R Sim,Hans Kromhout,Roel Vermeulen,David P Johns,Eugene Haydn Walters,Michael J. Abramson +8 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Sun exposure may protect against non-Hodgkin lymphoma: a case-control study
Ann Maree Hughes,Bruce K. Armstrong,Claire M. Vajdic,Jennifer Turner,Andrew E. Grulich,Lin Fritschi,Sam Milliken,John M. Kaldor,Geza Benke,Anne Kricker +9 more
TL;DR: Increasing evidence that vitamin D may protect against cancer makes UV‐mediated synthesis of vitamin D a plausible mechanism whereby sun exposure might protect against NHL, and provides strong statistical evidence for an inverse association between sun exposure and NHL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in Public Health.
Kurt K. Benke,Geza Benke +1 more
TL;DR: Fundamental concepts underlying AI and Big Data and their significance to public health are described and the potential impacts and challenges to medical professionals and diagnosticians are described.

Mobile telephone use is associated with changes in cognitive function in young adolescents.
Michael J. Abramson,Geza Benke,Christina Dimitriadis,Imo Okon Inyang,Malcolm R Sim,Rory Wolfe,Rodney J. Croft,Rodney J. Croft +7 more
TL;DR: Overall, mobile phone use was associated with faster and less accurate responding to higher level cognitive tasks, suggesting these cognitive changes were unlikely due to radiofrequency (RF) exposure.
