Perceived need for treatment for alcohol use disorders: results from two national surveys.
TL;DR: The results suggest that failure to perceive need continues to be the major reason that individuals with alcohol use disorders do not receive treatment, and it is likely that high levels of unmet need for treatment services for alcohol use disorder will persist as long as perceived need is low.

Clinician Screening and Treatment of Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Problems in Primary Care: Results From Healthcare for Communities
TL;DR: Substantial effort is expended screening and treating common ADM problems in primary care, and these efforts are targeted towards those with ADM disorders, but only about half of individuals with an ADM disorder report being screened, and among this group, about 60% report receiving any treatment.
