Journal ArticleDOI

Distribution and elimination of brevetoxin PbTx-3 in rats

TL;DR: The distribution and elimination profile suggested that the liver was the major organ of metabolism and that biliary excretion was an important route of elimination, and Skeletal muscle does not appear to be a site of metabolism, but a storage compartment, from which toxin is slowly released prior to clearance by the liver.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sensitive and specific colorimetric ELISAs for Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxins A and B in urine and buffer

TL;DR: Simple, sensitive and accurate colorimetric capture ELISAs for staphylococcal enterotoxins A and B offer a viable, cost-effective method for analysis of these ubiquitous toxins and are ideal candidates for evaluating human exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sanitary problems related to the presence of Ostreopsis spp. in the Mediterranean Sea: a multidisciplinary scientific approach

TL;DR: In response to the urgent need for toxicity characterization of palytoxin and its congeners, an integrated study encompassing both in vitro and in vivo methods was performed.
