Journal ArticleDOI

The search for a taxol-producing microorganism among the endophytic fungi of the Pacific yew, Taxus brevifolia.

TL;DR: Immunoassay techniques are currently being used to screen extracts of Taxomyces andreanae for new taxanes, and to determine if other endophytic fungi are taxol producers, which appears to produce taxol and other taxanes in de novo fashion when grown in semi-synthetic liquid media.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a recombinant tetravalent dengue virus vaccine: immunogenicity and efficacy studies in mice and monkeys.

TL;DR: Results support the development of a dengue virus tetravalent vaccine based on the four 80E subunits produced in the Drosophila S2 cell expression system, which are highly immunogenic and capable of eliciting protective responses in both mice and monkeys.
Journal ArticleDOI

A rapid and sensitive hemolysis neutralization assay for palytoxin

Gary S. Bignami
- 01 Jun 1993 -
TL;DR: Hemolysis by palytoxin was time- and temperature-dependent, with a 24 hr detection limit of 1 pg/ml, and the assay selectively detected palyToxin in a crude extract of Palythoa tuberculosa.
