Mediastinal Lymph Node Clearance After Docetaxel-Cisplatin Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy Is Prognostic of Survival in Patients With Stage IIIA pN2 Non–Small-Cell Lung Cancer: A Multicenter Phase II Trial
Daniel Betticher,Shu Fang Hsu Schmitz,Martin Tötsch,Eva Hansen,Christine Joss,Christian von Briel,Ralph A. Schmid,Miklos Pless,James Habicht,Arnaud Roth,Anastase Spiliopoulos,Rolf A. Stahel,Walter Weder,Roger Stupp,Fritz Egli,Markus Furrer,Hanspeter Honegger,M. Wernli,Thomas Cerny,Hans-Beat Ris +19 more
TL;DR: Neoadjuvant docetaxel-cisplatin is effective and tolerable in stage IIIA pN2 NSCLC and downstaging to N0-1 at surgery was prognostic and significantly prolonged event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS).
Journal ArticleDOI
In vivo mechanical characterization of human liver.
Alessandro Nava,Edoardo Mazza,Edoardo Mazza,Markus Furrer,Peter M. Villiger,Walter H. Reinhart +5 more
TL;DR: The constitutive model corresponding to the "average" liver response has been implemented into a finite element whole liver model and used for simulations related to liver surgery and the predictive capabilities of the quasi-linear viscoelastic model and the Rubin Bodner non-linear elastic-viscoplastic model are compared.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catamenial pneumothorax revisited: clinical approach and systematic review of the literature.
Stephan Korom,Haydar Canyurt,Antje Missbach,Didier Schneiter,Michael O. Kurrer,Urs Haller,Paul J. Keller,Markus Furrer,Walter Weder +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss etiology, clinical course, and surgical treatment of 3 women with catamenial pneumothorax with video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic factors affecting long-term outcomes in patients with resected stage IIIA pN2 non-small-cell lung cancer: 5-year follow-up of a phase II study
Daniel C. Betticher,S-F Hsu Schmitz,Martin Tötsch,Eva Hansen,Christine Joss,C. Von Briel,Ralph A. Schmid,Miklos Pless,James Habicht,Arnaud Roth,Anastase Spiliopoulos,R. Stahel,W. Weder,Roger Stupp,Fritz Egli,Markus Furrer,Hanspeter Honegger,M. Wernli,Thomas Cerny,H-B Ris +19 more
TL;DR: Neoadjuvant docetaxel–cisplatin was effective and tolerable in stage IIIA pN2 NSCLC, with chemotherapy contributing significantly to outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Three years' experience in video-assisted in thoracic surgery (VATS) for spontaneous pneumothorax
TL;DR: It is concluded that video-assisted thoracoscopically treatment of spontaneous pneumothorax by wedge resection and pleurectomy has a recurrence-free rate of 93.8% (45/48) and is therefore an effective treatment for all forms of spontaneous pneumonia.
