Properties of Resveratrol: In Vitro and In Vivo Studies about Metabolism, Bioavailability, and Biological Effects in Animal Models and Humans.

TL;DR: The issue of bioavailability of resveratrol is of paramount importance and is determined by its rapid elimination and the fact that its absorption is highly effective, but the first hepatic step leaves little free resver atrol.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sarcopenia, frailty and their prevention by exercise.

TL;DR: This review explores the definitions of sarcopenia and frailty and summarize the current knowledge on their relationship with oxidative stress and the possible therapeutic interventions to prevent or treat them, including exercise-based interventions and multimodal strategies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidative Stress Is Related to Frailty, Not to Age or Sex, in a Geriatric Population: Lipid and Protein Oxidation as Biomarkers of Frailty

TL;DR: To ascertain whether indicators of oxidative damage to lipids and proteins are biomarkers of frailty, after adjusting for age, sex, and other possible confounders, a large number of randomised trials were conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relevance of Oxygen Concentration in Stem Cell Culture for Regenerative Medicine.

TL;DR: The goal of this review is to understand mechanisms underlying the oxygen signalling pathways and their negatively-associated consequences, which may provide a rationale for culturing stem cells under physiological oxygen concentration for stem cell therapy success, in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of low-impact aerobic exercise combined with music therapy on patients with fibromyalgia. A pilot study.

TL;DR: Therapeutic aerobic exercise is effective in improving depression and general discomfort in individuals with fibromyalgia, however, effectiveness is higher when combined with music therapy, which brings about further improvements in quality of life and balance.
